Blackrod Youth Council

A number of years ago, Mr Royal worked hard with Blackrod council to help them to see just how important it is to hear the views and opinions of young people living in Blackrod as part of their decision making processes. Each year, 4 pupils from both primary schools in Blackrod are nominated to sit on the Youth Council. These pupils are chosen as they are considered by staff to be excellent role models in behaviour and attitude as well as being able to articulate and communicate the views and opinions of themselves and their peers. These 4 children regularly attend full council meetings and learn all about how a formal town council runs. The Blackrod Youth Councillors can easily be identified in school by their royal blue sweatshirts.
